Sometimes The Stillness
by Donna Havens, MEd
She is an archetype. She is deepest love and she has superpowers that she protects and cherishes. These are health, vitality, joy, imagination, playfulness, powerful storytelling, integrity, wisdom and empathy. She is focused and intentional and conscious of the passage of time. She lives accordingly. She is addicted to joy, to music and dance, to love, to deep inner knowing, to hope and peace and possibility, to the beauty and sometimes the sorrow that is the surrendering to love, to healthy bones and muscles and a body that moves with ease because it stays in motion, nourishes itself with real food, good sleep and healing touch, to stars in the night sky and the rising of the sun, to flowers and trees and birds and animals and the forest and rivers and the ocean, to strength of heart and spirit and mind, to discerning what is hers to tend and what is God's, to play and imagination, storytelling and love, and now more than ever, to the expectation that in time, all will be more than well.
She accepts that each of us is on our own hero's/heroine's journey with unique challenges, and that there are both good and bad surprises around Life's many bends. She accepts that often things happen that she never thought would, and that self-actualization comes only through authenticity, only from letting go, keeping our hearts open and embracing Life's mysteries. She has found that the deepest, most painful and traumatic experiences, when embraced, will lead to profound healing and depth of understanding.
Sometimes the stillness comes unexpectedly, as a peace that passes understanding. Always the stillness is her north star; the last first track. It comes hand in hand with the mighty kindness. It is the way.
